More about Mary Kate...

Mary Kate began her legal career in 2011 as an estate administration law clerk for a small firm in Hudson County. She quickly learned that a strong working knowledge of state and federal tax law is essential to a well prepared estate plan and competent estate administration. This inspired her to focus her legal education on tax-oriented matters and to join our firm in October of 2012 as our law clerk, eventually being promoted to Associate in 2014 and Partner in 2022. Prior to her legal studies, she interned in the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C. and enjoyed a career in cosmetology. Mary Kate maintains her license in cosmetology.

Mary Kate’s practice includes assisting clients with the various and complex steps of estate administration, which can be overwhelming and scary for a person who has just lost their loved one. She strives to simplify the estate administration process so that unraveling the tangled web of the estate does not become a time-consuming burden for her clients and their families. Mary Kate not only provides legal services, but also a helping hand and shoulder to cry on when needed. Her empathy and compassion for her clients extends to her estate and elder law planning practice by working one-on-one with clients to ensure they have a long-term plan that works for them and the required follow up that properly and adequately addresses their individual needs and goals. Mary Kate is passionate about educating all who will listen, or read, about the pitfalls and heartache that can occur if one does not adequately plan for their death and incapacity.

Her heart extends beyond the legal world and while she is proud of her accomplishments as an attorney, her most cherished claim to fame is becoming a wife to her husband, Mark, and a mother to their two small children. When not devoting her time to the law or her family, Mary Kate volunteers her home as an animal foster parent through Lost Paws Animal Rescue. Additionally, she is currently training her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, whom her children named "Princess Penelope La La," to be a certified therapy dog for our clients. Princess's progress towards this achievement can be followed on our Facebook page.
