More about Mary Kate...

Mary Kate is a partner at LSS Law, specializing in estate and elder law planning and administration. She joined the firm in 2012 as a law clerk, after working as an estate administration law clerk for a small firm in Hudson County. She became an associate in 2014 and a partner in 2022. She has a strong background in state and federal tax law, which she acquired through her legal education and experience. She also has a diverse professional history, having interned in the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C. and having worked as a licensed cosmetologist.

Mary Kate’s practice focuses on helping clients with the various and complex steps of estate administration, which can be overwhelming and stressful for a person who has just lost their loved one. She simplifies the estate administration process for her clients and their families, and handles the legal formalities and technicalities with competence and efficiency. Mary Kate not only provides legal services, but also a helping hand and shoulder to cry on when needed. Her empathy and compassion for her clients also extends to her estate and elder law planning practice, where she works one-on-one with clients to ensure they have a long-term plan that suits their individual needs and goals. Mary Kate is passionate about educating people about the importance and benefits of proper estate and incapacity planning, and the pitfalls and heartache that can occur otherwise.

Outside of her legal work, Mary Kate is a devoted wife to her husband, Mark, and a loving mother to their two small children. She also volunteers her time and home as an animal foster parent through Lost Paws Animal Rescue.
